Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Rubbish Clearance Streatham is committed to conducting all aspects of our operations in a responsible, ethical and transparent manner. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps we take to ensure that modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation have no place in our business or in the supply chains that support our services.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to all aspects of our rubbish clearance activities, including waste collection, transportation, recycling and disposal. We expect everyone working for or with Rubbish Clearance Streatham to share this commitment, including employees, agency staff, subcontractors and suppliers.
Any form of slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, debt bondage, child labour or human trafficking is strictly prohibited in our business and supply chains. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation that is involved in, or fails to take adequate steps to prevent, modern slavery or human trafficking.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Rubbish Clearance Streatham provides waste collection and clearance services to domestic, commercial and industrial customers. Our supply chains include providers of vehicles and equipment, fuel and maintenance services, personal protective equipment, waste transfer and recycling facilities, and labour providers.
We recognise that certain parts of the waste and recycling industry, as well as the wider logistics and labour supply sectors, can be at greater risk of labour exploitation. We therefore apply enhanced scrutiny and due diligence to suppliers and partners operating in these areas.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers and contractors to uphold the same high standards that we set for ourselves. Our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery is reflected in our purchasing practices, contract terms and supplier onboarding processes.
Where appropriate, we carry out supplier assessments and audits to evaluate compliance with our ethical and labour standards. This may include verifying right-to-work documentation, reviewing employment and wage practices, and checking how subcontractors are managed. Suppliers who fail to meet our standards are required to implement corrective actions within a clear timeframe, and we reserve the right to terminate relationships where improvements are not made.
Training, Awareness and Reporting Channels
We provide relevant training and guidance to managers and staff who are involved in procurement, recruitment and frontline operations. This includes information on recognising signs of modern slavery, understanding risk factors in our sector and knowing how to raise concerns.
All employees are encouraged to report any concerns about potential modern slavery or human trafficking, whether within our own operations or in relation to a supplier or subcontractor. Concerns can be raised with a line manager, a designated senior manager or through our internal reporting channels, which may be used confidentially. We will take all reports seriously, investigate appropriately and, where necessary, cooperate fully with law enforcement and regulatory bodies.
Due Diligence and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to continuously improving our approach to identifying, preventing and addressing modern slavery risks. This includes reviewing our risk assessments, updating contractual requirements, enhancing supplier due diligence and monitoring compliance. Where we identify potential areas of risk, we will work with relevant parties to reduce and manage those risks effectively.
Monitoring, Annual Review and Approval
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least annually to ensure it remains accurate, effective and appropriate to the nature and scale of our activities. As part of this review, we assess the effectiveness of our controls, supplier oversight, staff training and reporting mechanisms, and make improvements where required.
The statement is approved by the senior management of Rubbish Clearance Streatham, who are responsible for ensuring that the commitments set out here are implemented across our business and reflected in how we work with all stakeholders. We remain fully committed to playing our part in eliminating modern slavery and human trafficking from our operations and supply chains.
